ICC Leads Green Drive with Foodcycler ECO 5 Launch

ICC Smart Eco Solutions, a division of International Construction Consortium (Pvt) Ltd. (ICC), has taken a significant step toward promoting greener lifestyles with the launch of the Foodcycler ECO 5 on August 28, 2025, at a rooftop ceremony held at the ICC Business Centre. This landmark initiative underscores ICC’s commitment to extending its expertise beyond construction and into sustainable environmental solutions.

Mr. K.A.D. Chathura Ruwan Tharanga, Chairman of the Waste Management Authority – Western Province, graced the occasion as Chief Guest. He commended ICC’s forward-thinking approach, noting that household-level technologies like the Foodcycler ECO 5 are vital to achieving the country’s long-term waste management goals. The launch event brought together government officials, industry leaders, and environmental advocates, reflecting the growing urgency to address the challenge of household food waste.
The Foodcycler ECO 5, introduced by ICC Smart Eco Solutions, offers a compact and energy-efficient method of converting everyday kitchen scraps, such as meats, fish, vegetables, eggshells, and cooked food, into nutrient-rich compost within just nine hours. With its 5-litre capacity, smart digital display, patented odour-free filtration system, and low electricity consumption of only one unit per cycle, the ECO 5 allows households to reduce their organic waste output by up to 40%.

The device is designed for ease of use: simply fill the bucket with food waste, place it inside the unit, close the lid, and press start. Built-in activated carbon filters neutralise odours during processing and are easily replaceable. In less than a day, users are left with a ready-to-use soil amendment that can enrich home gardens and plants.
By diverting food waste from landfills, the ECO 5 not only reduces harmful methane emissions but also enables households and small businesses to turn waste into something valuable, reflecting ICC’s vision of combining innovation with environmental responsibility.
The Foodcycler ECO 5 is now available at the ICC showroom. Special launch pricing is offered to the first 20 customers, reinforcing ICC’s role as a pioneer in sustainable solutions and its dedication to building a cleaner, greener future for Sri Lanka.
