{"id":5251,"date":"2025-12-12T09:24:33","date_gmt":"2025-12-12T03:54:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ceylontribune.com\/?p=5251"},"modified":"2025-12-12T09:29:07","modified_gmt":"2025-12-12T03:59:07","slug":"5251","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ceylontribune.com\/?p=5251","title":{"rendered":"Former Speaker Asoka Ranwala hospitalised after vehicle involved in accident"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Further information has been revealed regarding the accident involving a jeep driven by former Speaker and Member of Parliament Asoka Ranwala, which resulted in a head-on collision with a car.<\/p>\n<p>According to police, the incident occurred last night (11) in the Denimalla area of Sapugaskanda.<\/p>\n<p>A 25-year-old woman, her six-month-old infant, and 55-year-old mother who were travelling in the motor car sustained injuries and have been admitted to hospital.<\/p>\n<p>Police further stated that the infant was subsequently transferred to the Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children for specialised treatment.<\/p>\n<p>MP Asoka Ranwala, who was travelling in the jeep and also sustained injuries, has been admitted to the Ragama Hospital, said police.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the damaged jeep and motor car, a motorcycle also involved in the incident has been taken into police custody.<\/p>\n<p>Sapugaskanda Police have commenced further investigations into the accident.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Further information has been revealed regarding the accident involving a jeep driven by former Speaker and Member of Parliament Asoka Ranwala, which resulted in a&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":1933,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"iawp_total_views":4,"footnotes":""},"categories":[2,4],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-5251","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-leadstories","category-local","entry"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.5 -
